Sermatech coatings have been utilized in the Aerospace industry for more than 40 years. The first applications of SermeTel were on Spitfire cable systems where they were used to make dry film lube “stick” to the cables.

SermeTel coatings then found their way into the compressor section of the gas turbines for corrosion protection and improved fuel consumption and are now widely accept throughout the industry.

Sermatech has developed coatings for the protection of a wide range of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft airframe components such as:

• Flap actuators
• Landing gear braking systems
• Axles
• Gearboxes
• Other structural components

These coatings are applied as both slurry coatings and thermal sprayed coatings.

Sermatech has a full complement of coatings for the gas turbine – cold section, combustor, hot section and light metal coatings for accessories and gearboxes.

In order to protect our environment Sermatech has taken a leadership role in developing new compliant coatings, such as our CS (Compliant Solutions) and CF (Chrome Free) coatings that are being evaluated and used in the Aerospace industry.
