The S4000 coating represents a new generation of Sermatech coatings, which takes the performance of SermeTel^® 5380 DP to a new level.  S4000 is an aerodynamically smooth coating that provides corrosion resistance as well as better turbine efficiency.   It consists of an aluminum filled basecoat and a porosity sealing topcoat.
