Brazing   Special Processes  — Brazing & Metbond

Brazing is one of the most versatile methods of joining metals in use today. Brazed joints are strong and ductile and the process is highly adaptable and economical. In addition, braze materials perform well in abrasive, corrosive and high temperature condiditions. Because of these and numerous other features, brazing has become popular and effective in a variety of industrial uses as well as gas turbine applications.

In addition, braze materials perform well in abrasive, corrosive and high temperature condiditions. Because of these and numerous other features, brazing has become popular and effective in a variety of industrial uses as well as gas turbine applications.

Our range of sophisticated metal joining technologies includes the following types of brazing:

  • Honeycomb
  • Induction
  • Fluxless induction
  • Hydrogen
  • Vacuum
  • Gold/nickel
  • Silver/copper

In addition to brazing, Sermatech has a portfolio of welding services to meet your metal joining requirements. Our welding technologies include manual tungsten inert gas (TIG) and automated dabber TIG welding, manual, semiautomatic and plasma arc (PTA) welding and our patented MetBond® microplasma power welding.

The MetBond process offers low heat input ton the welded part, flexibility in filler material composition, achievement of near-net-shape welds and superior mechanical properties. Advancements in the MetBond technology include an automated process that yields productivity by allowing for a more precise placement of weld deposits and an increase in welding speed.

And administering a heat treating process to brazed components further enhances the strength of brazed joints and heat treating welded parts removes residual stress.
