Sermatech
Connecticut can restore critical, expensive turbine engine components to "as
new" condition through the use of specialized repair services:
Machining -
We perform milling, drilling, I.D. and O.D. grinding,
surface grinding, turning, boring and airfoil blending. With each process,
our experienced machinists can repeatedly meet extremely fine tolerances.
|
Welding - Our welding capabilities
include manual tungsten inert gas (TIG), automated dabber TIG, manual,
semi-automatic and robotic plasma arc (PTA) welding, and the patented
Metbond® microplasma powder welding. The Metbond process can be
used to repair superalloys previously considered unweldable.
Inspection -
The precision of our machining and welding procedures is checked and
verified using a variety of technologies, including dimensional inspection
as well as destructive and non-destructive testing.
Dimensional inspection equipment includes a cadre of
manual inspection tools as well as a coordinate measuring
machine. Non destructive testing is accomplished by fully-certified
technicians, performing fluorescent penetrant, dye penetrant and eddy
current inspection. Additional NDT techniques such as radiographic inspection
also are available. Destructive testing is made possible in our fully
equipped metallographic laboratory.
